Characteristics: Corals zooxanthellate, monostomatous (with one mouth), free-living, oval to elongate. Maximum diameter 18 cm. Septal teeth angular and each covered by a vertical row of granulations. Septa show tentacular lobes. Corallum wall perforate. Costae show sharp or blunt costal spines with granulations at their tips (Hoeksema, 1989). Colour brown with pink.
Ecology: Most common on reef slopes.
Range: Indo-West Pacific.
Additional remarks: The tentacular lobes are very distinct.
