Characteristics: Corals zooxanthellate; encrusting to foliaceous. Polyps (corallites) large and adjacent to each other, each forming shallow calices (Vaughan and Wells, 1943).

Ecology: Little is known about the ecology.

Range: Indo-West Pacific.

Additional remarks: Corals of this genus more foliaceous than those of Pectinia; they have clearer calices than in Echinophyllia.
