Description: Colonies forming fans. Colour of colonies white, orange, red, purple, yellow, bluish green. Polyps tall and cylindrical, arranged all around the branches, contractile but not retractile. Sclerites of coenenchyme are tuberculate spindles, capstans, derivations of capstans, and small spindles with smooth elevations. Zooxanthellae absent.
Habitat: Reef slope.
Range: Tropical Indo-Pacific
Remarks: Grasshoff (1999) synonymized Acalycigorgia Kükenthal, 1908 with Anthogorgia.
