Type species: Pinnigorgia flava (Nutting, 1910).
Total number of species estimated: 3.
Description: Colonies with thin short branches arising from thick main branches on opposite sides or all around, forming pinnate or bottlebrush like colonies. Colonies brownish with white polyps. Surface of coenenchyme with spindles with tubercles on the outer side flattened, forming small discs. Interior with spindles. Zooxanthellae present.
Habitat: reefs.
Range: Central Indo-Pacific and Great Barrier Reef.
