Description: Colony shape variable, but often forming many upright flattened lobes. Colony of colonies brown, tips of lobes often white. Massive skeleton composed of aragonite which is not made of fused sclerites. Colour of skeleton blue.
Habitat: Shallow water.
Range: Widespread in the western and central Indo-Pacific.
Remarks: Probably the only reef-building octocoral of significance.
