Description: Colonies bushy. Axial polyps very long, arising from spreading, stolonic holdfast. Lateral polyps short and numerous. Polyps not retractile. Sclerites are tuberculated spindles, some club-shaped. Colour of colonies white to pale brown. Zooxanthellae present.

Habitat: Sheltered waters.

Range: Widespread in Indo-Pacific.

Remarks: Coelogorgia is close to Carijoa. Differences are the non-retractile character of the polyps, clearer difference between the axial polyp and the lateral ones, and larger colony size.
